🔒 Privacy First Architecture

Privacy Policy How Solari Handles Your Data

We believe in radical transparency. Solari is built on a local-first architecture with zero account requirements and zero personal data collection.

💻

Local-First Architecture

Solari connects directly to Discord's official local IPC socket right on your computer. All status calculations, preset switching, process auto-detection, and WaveSurfer soundboard routing happen 100% locally on your machine. Nothing you type or configure in presets is transmitted to remote cloud databases.

📊

Minimal Anonymous Telemetry

To ensure software reliability and monitor active installs, Solari uses a minimal, tiered telemetry system:

  • Anonymous Core Heartbeat: Transmits a randomly generated random UUID (e.g. v_abc123), app version (e.g. v2.x), timestamp, and whether companion BetterDiscord plugins are detected.
  • Optional Telemetry: Aggregates non-identifiable feature adoption statistics to guide development. You can turn this off at any time in Solari Settings.
Zero Personal Data: We never collect your real name, email, IP address, Discord credentials, account tokens, chats, or keystrokes.
🚫

What We Never Collect

  • Your IP address or geolocation
  • Your Discord password, email, or user token
  • The content of your Discord direct messages or server chats
  • Your personal files, documents, or desktop directories
  • Screen recordings, webcam, or microphone audio
🛡️

Local WebSocket Isolation

Both the Solari Media v2 browser extension and the BetterDiscord companion plugins communicate with the Solari desktop app exclusively via loopback WebSockets bound to 127.0.0.1 (ports 6464/8888). Because this traffic never leaves your local network adapter, your media titles, notes, and lyrics cannot be intercepted over the public internet.

🌐

Third-Party Services

Solari interfaces strictly with the following external endpoints:

  • Discord IPC Socket: Required to update your active Rich Presence on the Discord client locally.
  • GitHub & GitLab APIs: Used strictly to query new version releases and download update installers.
  • Imgur: Used only when users opt to upload custom images via Solari's image helper.
