1. Client ID Setup & Factory Client IDs

Every Discord Rich Presence status is bound to a Discord Application ID (known as a Client ID). This ID determines the primary title displayed next to your status (such as "Playing Cyberpunk 2077" or "Watching Netflix").

⚡ Out-of-the-Box Factory IDs: Solari includes built-in Factory Client IDs for popular games, streaming services (Netflix, YouTube, Twitch), and productivity apps. You do not need to register developer accounts to get started immediately!

To use your own personalized Discord Developer Application:

  1. Visit the Discord Developer Portal and log in.
  2. Click New Application at the top right.
  3. Name your application exactly what you want your status headline to say (e.g., Visual Studio Code or Elden Ring).
  4. On the General Information page, copy the numeric Application ID.
  5. Open Solari, navigate to Edit > Client ID, paste your ID, and click Save.

2. The 4 Native Activity Types & Custom Presets

Unlike standard RPC tools that only support "Playing", Solari supports all 4 native Discord activity types directly through Discord's IPC protocol:

  • Playing: Displays "Playing [App Name]". Ideal for games, custom titles, and creative statuses.
  • Listening: Displays "Listening to [App Name]". Perfect for music sessions, SoundCloud, and custom audio tracks.
  • Watching: Displays "Watching [App Name]". Built for Netflix, anime platforms, Twitch streams, and movies.

Each preset can be customized with Details (top text), State (bottom text), Elapsed or Remaining Timestamps, Large Image with hover tooltip, Small Image badge, and up to two interactive action buttons with custom web URLs.

3. Process Auto-Detection & Eco Mode

Never worry about manually updating your status when switching games. Solari features an advanced native Windows process watcher with intelligent Eco Mode:

  1. Go to the Auto-Detect tab in Solari.
  2. Select which of your saved Presets to trigger.
  3. Enter the Windows executable process name (e.g., valorant.exe, code.exe, or spotify.exe).
  4. Click Add Mapping.
🌱 Eco Mode Throttling: When active window changes are frequent, Solari polls every 3 seconds. Once your game session is stable or the system is idle, Solari automatically throttles down to a 10-second poll interval, consuming near-zero CPU cycles and saving laptop battery.

4. Solari Media Browser Extension

The official Solari Media browser extension connects your Chromium (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera) or Firefox browser directly to the Solari desktop app over local secure WebSockets.

  • Supported Platforms: YouTube, Netflix, Twitch, Prime Video, Disney+, Crunchyroll, AnimeFLV, SoundCloud, and Web Spotify.
  • Rich Context Extraction: Automatically extracts video titles, creator names, series titles, season/episode numbering, and synchronized live playback time bars.
  • Zero Cloud Telemetry: All metadata is transferred locally on your machine (ports 6464/8888). No browsing history is ever transmitted outside your PC.

5. Native WaveSurfer Soundboard

Solari includes a high-fidelity soundboard powered by a dedicated WaveSurfer.js audio engine running locally on port 3005.

  1. Drop your favorite .mp3, .wav, or .ogg sound clips into Solari's Soundboard tab.
  2. Configure a virtual audio driver (such as VB-Audio Virtual Cable). Set Solari's soundboard output device to CABLE Input.
  3. In Discord's Voice Settings, set your Input Device to CABLE Output (or use a software mixer like Voicemeeter to blend your mic with the soundboard).
